George 155x122

Service. 14.01.2011

George William Hyndes Sapper SNX 22569

Aged 88 Years 17.02.1922-09.01.2011

George’s life was celebrated on Friday 14th January, 2011 within the West Chapel of Pinegrove Memorial Park, Minchinbury.

The service was officiated by Celebrant Michelle Latham.

George was a man that was loved by all of his family – he enjoyed a beer or two, but most importantly his family was everything to him.

There was not a dry eye in the chapel after Michelle read a letter that George had left for Gail – he wanted to thank her for being the woman she was & for doing everything for him.

A special thank you to Mr. John Foeken, Terry Burns and Members of the St. Mary’s RSL Sub – Branch for conducting a tribute to George for the time he served in the Australian Army.

Funeral Poem

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamond glint of snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star shine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there...
I did not die.
