Service. 14.09.2010

Christopher John Monaghan

Aged 39 Years 16.07.1971-06.09.2010

There was standing room only at St. Monica’s Catholic Church, North Parramatta on Tuesday 14th September, 2010 when over 400 family members and close friends came to bid farewell to Christopher John Monaghan. The service was officiated by Father Fernando.

Prior to the commencement of Mass, Chris’s children – James, Jack and Elly painted their Dad’s casket with messages of love. It was an important part of the day for them to be able to express how much their Daddy meant to them and how much he will be missed by them..

The congregation also heard moving tributes by Bec and Mitch, after which a slideshow was shown and Chris was carried from the church to the song “You raise me up’.

Although rain had started, this was not to dampen the celebration of Chris’s life with him being laid to rest at Castlebrook Memorial Park – balloons were released by the children, bubbles were blown by both children and adults alike as the song “You are always on my mind” was played…

A wonderful tribute to a man that left a legacy on many, many people..

Christopher John Monaghan's Guestbook

  1. Dearest Bec, Jack, James & Elly – no words can ever express our sadness for your loss. We had really only just got to know Chris with this idea in our heads that we would have 40+ years (at least) to finish getting to know him…Chris’ service was just beautiful and everything about it spoke a thousand words about your love for each other. Please know that we will always be here for you and will help you face each day – you have shown so much strength and courage – remember to lean on your friends and family from time to time…..we are happy to take it on! Much love and thanks for inviting us so warmly into your lives x x x Kylie & Co

Funeral Poem

'Everyday in some small way
Memories of you come our way.
Though absent, you are always near
Still missed, loved and always dear.'
