Melvin Ernest Pearson

Aged 62 Years 05.11.1946-14.07.2009

Mel’s life was celebrated on Tuesday 21st July, 2009 at Pinegrove Memorial Park, Minchinbury. The service was officiated by Celebrant Michelle Latham. The North Chapel overflowed with family, friends & colleagues from Mel’s days at IPEC.

Mel was a wonderful husband of 45 years to Robyn & a devoted father to Sharlene, Michael, Leonie & Tony. A cherished poppy to his 8 grandchildren & a loved brother, brother – in – law, Uncle & friend…

Memories of Mel’s life were spoken by his daughter Sharlene, sister Yvonne, brother – in law Richard, close friend Lyn & work colleague Greg.

A man that was loved & admired by many, Mel was known in the most affectionate way as either” Silent Harry, Garbo or Chookie”

Forever loved by all that were fortunate to meet this man…

  3. When I first met Mel it must be about 8-9 yrs ago I took an instant like to him. We introduced each other and he said to me you can call me “Chookie” so that was his name i called him every day. Chookie was a a true workmate, I used to enjoy seeing him turn up to work every morning, Put his work bag in his truck and, then take his spagetti sandwich down to our little cafe latte corner as it is named, put it in the toastie machine which Chookie bought in along time ago for all the guys to use,and I tell you it gets a thrashing. He loved a good laugh first up in the morning and then it was off in his truck,i enjoyed seeing and working with Chookie everyday. He was a really neat bloke and I’ll never forget him . I just wish i had of made it to your lovely send off.. RIP my friend Chookie.. See you in the next world mate.
